The following are the Co-op procedures at OICC Vancouver. For students beginning their Co-op work experience, there will now be five steps to follow:
-
Student and College Coop Contract- At the start of your Co-op, you will receive a Signable e-signature email containing an online fillable contract.- Complete and submit this form on your phone or computer. The contract will outline your responsibilities and include sections for you to provide details about your employer, your job duties, and your supervisor’s contact information.
-
Employment Verification - Supervisor or Manager- A second email will be sent to the supervisor contact, requesting them to complete an employment verification form.
- If your employer is unable or unwilling to verify your employment directly with the college, please inform your program manager.
- Supporting documents such as a T4 or a recent pay stub is also acceptable.
-
Monthly Hour Tracking (Moodle Course: Co-op 12)- Add Employment Information under "Employment Record"- At the end of each month, report coop hours and any change in your employment in the "Monthly Co-op Hours Tracking" section here.
-
Midpoint Meeting- At the midpoint of your Co-op term (for example, at 6 months into a 12-month placement), you will be required to meet online or onsite with the program manager to review your progress and discuss your experience so far. Send an email to schan@oxfordinternational.com to set up an appointment.
-
Graduation RequestAt the end of your Co-op (after reaching 960 coop hours), you will be starting your graduation process.
